I was 17, I was clueless that that’s where we were heading towards genocide but it did not look like that when it began… it did not look like it’s gonna be a war for us… people were divided in groups us versus them… people were in a protected zone… they were saying NATO is gonna take care of you, nobody is gonna bomb you, and then in one day 9,000 people, women and children, were killed [during the Bosnian War].
Welcome to EPISODE 22 of Soul Power To The People Podcast.
In this episode of SOUL POWER TO THE PEOPLE , Bosnian/American trained SI (Strategic Intervention) coach Elvisa Kovacevic joins Tess to discuss her experiences in war-torn Bosnia, her personal account of genocide, and the parallels to the 10 stages of genocide now happening around the globe.
In this episode, you will learn:
The 10 Stages of Genocide
- Classification
- Symbolization
- Discrimination
- Dehumanization
- Organization
- Polarization
- Preparation
- Persecution
- Extermination
- Denial
Elvisa shared her first-hand experience of genocide and broke down each stage to help us see if there is a correlation to what is now going on in the world today. Are we headed there?
The Ten Stages of Genocide is written by Dr. Gregory H. Stanton and can be found on http://genocidewatch.net/genocide-2/8-stages-of-genocide.
